My Review of the Hauwei P20 Smartphone

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review.

I have had a fantastic time using this Hauwei P20 Smart phone and I have been really impressed by its feature set. For around £600 the phone feels like a premium device with an all glass body and a screen that takes up nearly all of the front. There are a few things that did annoy me, the all had to do with the EMUI software. The EMUI software looks ok but it has too many extra app that are not needed (gallery app and googles photos app, 2 music apps etc..) and the extra features in the settings menu where hard to find. The notch at the top of the phone keeps the notification icons out of the way from the main display, some people don’t like this feature, but I didn’t find it a problem. I found the setting to enable the finger print ready to act as an off-screen navigation button very useful. I did love using all the features of the camera, including the super slow motion and ability the use the dual cameras to create fantastic portrait pictures that blur the background. The camera on this phone is amazing and is defiantly the best thing on this phone.
I wanted to list my thoughts on the pros and cons of the device below.

Pros:
Big, clear and bright screen (even came with a screen protector attached)
Super-fast fingerprint scanner and also face unlock.
Latest version of the Android software (Oreo 8.1).
Superb pictures from the dual camera.
Fantastic low light pictures.
Over 2 days of battery life.
Fast Charging over the USB type C connector.
128GB of storage.
Google Pay support (NFT).
Lots of software features built into the EMUI software.

Cons:
I had a few issues with pairing a smart watch reliability (I had to manually disable the power saving feature).
Sometime the EMUI software has so many features that can be hard to find and can sometimes get in the way.
The power saving prompt get very annoying as this seemed to always keep popping up.
No Micro SD card slot.
No standard headphone port (but you do get the adaptor in the box)
Not water proof

I really did enjoy this phone and it’s great to see so many features for this premium smartphone. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a large screened premium device and where the camera has to be very good.

My Review of the Hauwei P Smart phone

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review.

I have had a great time using this Hauwei P Smart phone and I have been really impressed by its feature set. For a £220 phone it has all the features of a phone that’s twice the price. There are a few things that did annoy me but keeping in mind the price of this phone, these can be forgiven. I loved trying out all the features of the camera especially the ability the use the dual cameras to blur the background. I wanted to list my thoughts below.

Pros:

  • Big, clear and bright screen (even came with a screen protector attached)
  • Super-fast fingerprint scanner in the perfect position on the back of the phone
  • Latest version of the Android software (Oreo)
  • Superb outside pictures from the dual camera
  • Using 2 apps at once on the big screen
  • Over 2 days of battery life
  • 32GB of storage
  • Google Pay support (NFT)
  • Lots of software features built into the EMUI software

Cons:

  • Inside and low light pictures are not the best
  • Some slowdown when using a few apps, the most notable was Google Maps
  • I had a few issues with pairing a smart watch reliability

I really did enjoy this phone and it’s great to see so many features and not many compromises for a budget smartphone. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a large screened budget device.
